Sachsenhausen Memorial preserves the site of a Nazi concentration camp built in 1936 near Oranienburg, on the outskirts of Berlin. Today the memorial and museum document the imprisonment, forced labor and killing of the people held here between 1936 and 1945, as well as the site's later history as a Soviet special camp.
This guided tour takes you from central Berlin to the memorial together with an English-speaking guide, traveling by train to Oranienburg. On site, the guide leads a walk through the grounds, covering the camp's history, its place within the wider network of Nazi concentration camps, and the experiences of the people imprisoned there.

Sachsenhausen Memorial sits on the northern edge of Oranienburg, a town roughly 35 kilometers north of central Berlin. The meeting point for this tour is outside Friedrichstraße train station in central Berlin, from where you travel together with your guide by train to Oranienburg; a Berlin public transport ticket covering zones A, B and C is required for the journey and can be purchased at the meeting point.
