The building features a colonnade and an exterior staircase, establishing a central meeting point and orientation hub for all tourists exploring the museums.

Closing days and special dates

The administration schedules full closures for all Museum Island facilities on Mondays. The museums maintain standard operations during most public holidays, but specific holiday dates dictate early closures. The institutions suspend all services entirely on December 24.
